These massage therapy schools usually requiring the following entrance requirements- the student must be at least 18 years of age upon admission, has a high school diploma with a successful completion of 60 hours in their secondary school and has taken subjects on biology, chemistry, and mathematics and lastly must have a grade point average of 2.0. The students are recommended to pass a criminal background check to make sure that they have not committed any crime. When already admitted in a massage therapist school, the school will offer a program that consists of both lectures and practical works. Lectures include subjects like anatomy and physiology while practical works include the actual practice on how to do the massage properly. After graduation, they must pass the examination required by the state for licensure. The person must pass the exam and can get their license.
A massage therapist salary is dependent on a lot of factors. A therapist working in a city can earn $60 to $70 an hour while those working in rural areas earn less. The massage therapist work is physically demanding. They usually work less than 35 hours a week for a full time work and a part time work of less than 10 hours a week. A massage therapist should not expect for any promotions to earn more since they do not have a career ladder.
